What are students in the community dressing up as?

With Halloween rapidly approaching, teens are eager to see the new costume trends. Many ideas can be found on TikTok, Instagram, and even Twitter. But what are everyone’s favorite trendy costume ideas this year?

Many influencers on TikTok have been suggesting different costume ideas, two such creators being @samanthavillegas and @namsfashion. Many students at OM have said they plan to wear Barbie-themed costumes. For example, freshman Myles Hillary said, “[Barbie] is easy and affordable to do, also what is popular right now because of the new movie that just came out.” 

Some other students chose ketchup and mustard because of a TikTok trend that has been going around and been promoted by creators/influencers like @karenmedoza_xo and @gnb.official. Senior Katie Hernandez is planning on doing the condiment duo because “it’s a really fun and simple duo thing to do with your bestfriend or boyfriend/girlfriend.” 

Another fan favorite seems to be Scream character costumes. The movie franchise has always been a popular choice of costume, but their most recent film has put them back in the running for most trendy costume. Freshman Britany Lopez is deciding to do this costume in hopes of getting a scare out of people. She states, “it’s a fun way to frighten people and get a good laugh.”

People at OM are thinking about wearing a wide variety of costumes, but hopefully this has given you some ideas on what to wear, so you can participate in Halloween and enjoy with family/friends while wearing these trendy costumes.
