Welcome Our New Staff at hOMe

Get to know Ms. Neubauer

Meet one of our newest staff members here at Oakland Mills, Ms. Neubauer! She recently transferred to Oakland Mills from Wilde Lake High School after teaching special education students for 14 years. She wanted to transfer schools this year to start at a new building with a new challenge.

After high school, Ms. Neubauer went to Towson University where she graduated with her bachelor’s degree in 2009 and with her master’s degree in 2014. After she graduated in 2014 from Towson, she dedicated her entire life to working at Wilde Lake High School. Now that it’s 2023, she wanted a new beginning after being in Wilde Lake for the past decade.

Some of Ms. Neubauer’s hobbies include hanging out with her three cats: Kaiyle, Simon, and Morgan, and hanging out with her family at her mother’s place since she has a lake near her. One special holiday that she enjoys most is Christmas Day with her family, as they all gather together. “Christmas is the favorite holiday of all of us, ” she said. Her family gathers from all around the country and meets in one state to spend their time together. One of Ms. Neubauer’s biggest accomplishments is playing for Washington Spirit Pro Women’s Soccer; she is a big soccer fan and has been since she was young.

Ms. Neubauer is actually an alumnus of Oakland Mills, having graduated in 2005. During her high school years, she stated that her best high school memory was having the principal’s assigned parking spot during her senior year. Another fun memory for her was the principal dressing up as a Captain Planet for homecoming during her senior year.

One thing that Ms. Neubauer wants students to know is, “enjoy high school as much as possible and live your teen years.” Be sure to pass by and say hi to our new staff!
