How OM Students Are Spending Winter Break

Upcoming plans for the ten-day break

Winter break, one of the most anticipated breaks of the school year, is coming up fast. As October and November passed by in a flash, it now is the time to start gearing up for winter break plans. Whether those plans include traveling, spending time with friends, or just staying home, it is safe to say that everyone enjoys those special days off. So as this time for celebrations, reunions, and resolutions gets ready to roll in, the most asked question of the season is: how are you going to spend your winter break?

To see how OM’s students are planning on spending their break, I went around to ask a few people what their plans were. Sophomore Alina Siddique listed quite a few plans, saying, “My family plans on going to New Jersey at the start of winter break to help my aunt set up for her wedding. I’m looking forward to visiting New York City and seeing the Christmas tree lighting. Maybe try ice skating too? I also plan on taking my permit test during the break.” She went on to mention how she wants to spend time with her friends and family.

My second interviewee was Aanchal KC, another fellow sophomore. Her plans include, “going to my cousin’s house and making a gingerbread house, ’cause we do it every year,” she answered. “If there’s snow, we’ll play in it. Hanging out with friends and having a sleepover maybe. Oh, and maybe visit some family… “I really want to learn about different cultures and try some new cultural food.” That’s something I want to try too!

The third interviewee was Tomoki Weddington, another sophomore. His plans are very in tune with the spirit of winter. “My family plans on going to a resort to snowboard. That’s about it,” he said.

My final interviewee was sophomore Jethro Mamauag. When asked what he was planning on doing, he simply said, “Germany.” So, I deduced he plans on traveling during the break.

It’s very interesting to see how four completely different people are planning to spend their upcoming winter break. It also happened to give me some ideas on what I want to do! Maybe they’ll inspire you too. Enjoy your winter break!
