How to better yourself in Quarter 2
New Quarter, new you! Each new quarter allows us to start fresh and reflect on what we did or didn’t do during the first quarter. Here are some tips to make Quarter 2 the best one yet!
One tip you can use to better yourself is to stay organized. Staying organized can consist of making a routine for yourself. Keep up with due dates and put them on a calendar so you know when they are. Keep your work separate for each class so it doesn’t get mixed up. For example, use different colored folders to differentiate subjects. These can keep you organized and ready to start the new quarter off right.
Tip two: when you get home each day, do your homework or any unfinished assignments from the day to prevent the work from piling up. This could help you stay on top of work for different classes. It may also be helpful to keep a To-Do list of assignments so you can receive the satisfaction of crossing them off when you are finished.
Tip three: study effectively. I know it can be a pain in the butt sometimes and can stress us out, but studying helps reinforce our learning which may help our performance on tests or quizzes. One way to effectively study is to take notes. Be sure to take notes that you can understand because most likely, no one but you will use them to study. Make sure you understand the material before you write it down, and don’t be afraid to ask classmates or the teacher for help. Lastly, memorize the material. If that means repeatedly studying, then do it. Find creative ways to study like singing a song, watching a video, or looking over your notes the night before your test. This strategy could also help you ace your midterm exams at the end of the second quarter.
The last and final tip is to take breaks. Breaks are needed for everyone during the school year. They can help you refresh your mind and give you a sense of peace during stressful times. Another example of a break is to perform self-care like taking naps, playing video games, performing skincare, or whatever you do to help yourself relax and be at peace. This could help you have a fresh mindset for the new quarter. School and grades are important, however, your mental health is more important.
These are some tips to help you for quarter two. Reflect on how you did during Quarter 1 and identify the areas you can grow in order to be even more successful in Quarter 2.
