OM Theater Presents “She Kills Monsters”

A drama-comedy play with adventure, death, and Dungeons and Dragons

OM Theater presents “She Kills Monsters,” a drama-comedy play by Qui Nguyen, from November 14th through 16th. The play debuted in 2011 and tells the story of Agnes Evans, a woman who loses her parents and sister Tilly in a car accident.

Directed by Ms. Hoffen, the play follows Agnes as she embarks on an adventure to connect with her alienated sister by playing a Dungeons & Dragons module Tilly had written.

Senior Jax Gordon, who plays Tilly Evans, expresses excitement about her role. “My favorite part about being Tilly is how her character is different from other roles I’ve done before. Tilly’s very rough and it’s just interesting how contrast it is to other roles I’ve done,” she said.

Junior Grace Fox, cast as Lillith (Tilly’s girlfriend in the play), brings a lot of experience to the production. With around 63 plays under her belt, she shared, “My favorite part of working on this play is definitely the community and the people are just really nice, and the bonds I’m making.”

The production also highlights the important role of the tech crew. Sam Abbet, a junior, emphasized the creativity that theater provides. “I like the outlet of being creative, and I’ve always been interested in doing theatrical stuff,” Abbet said.

Genesis Gordon, a senior on tech crew, noted the unique aspects of this production. “I think compared to other plays at OM, I like how this one is more based on a game, and it has more quirky moments,” Gordon commented.

The cast and crew invite OM to join them for what promises to be an entertaining and heartfelt production. You can catch the shows on November 14, 15, and 16th at 7:00 pm. There is also a matinee showing at 2:00 on November 16th. Tickets are $10.00 and can be purchased at hcpss.booktix.com.
