Your teacher’s iconic beverage staples of the season

Picture this: you are waiting in the Starbucks drive-thru line and all your favorite summer refreshments are out of season. You must be feeling the irritation running through your veins as the Summer-Berry Refresher with extra raspberry pearls is no longer available. There are so many options on the fall menu, though, regardless of where you buy your beverages. The Oakland Mills staff may inspire you to try something new for the fall weather. 

The most popular answer amongst the teachers is a Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks. There is a fifty-fifty split between iced lattes and hot ones. There is a variety of chai as well, from Dirty Chai with a shot of espresso, vanilla cold foam, and cinnamon powder to a simple hot Chai with whole clove, star anise, fennel, and ginger. There are lots of Chai options to feel homey! More order inspirations include Soy Latte, Salted Caramel Coldbrew, Hot Blonde Espresso latte, Cocoa Mocha Latte, Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappacino, and a Pecan Crunch Latte. A sprinkle of cinnamon powder for any drink would not hurt either! Many staff members also prefer to make their own special recipes at home. All you need is a Cafe Bustelo K-cup to make yourself an espresso dark roast coffee with raw honey, brown sugar, and vanilla oatmilk creamer to be like Ms. Veltre. If you want to be like Ms. Demery though, you would need a quart of the Tazo pumpkin spice chai latte, made with equal parts concentrate and milk with a splash of pumpkin spice cream.  If you want something different from store-bought and homemade drinks, visit a local farm, as fresh apple cider receives a great review as well. 

Autumn air seems to bring nostalgic feelings, as many staff members have childhood memories associated with the drinks they drink during this season. Maybe re-ordering/making a drink you used to love back then is the move! Whatever you decide, whether it is apple, maple, cinnamon, cranberry, ginger, pumpkin, or even witch broth, there are so many personalized options for a delectable sipping experience.
