Ideas for Procrastinators
Shopping for presents around the holidays can be challenging because of busy schedules, not knowing what to get, or just being lazy. This list of gift ideas should hopefully help you out this Christmas so you have a stress-free and easy holiday.
Let’s start with a popular choice: clothes. Now this sounds very vague but it’s really easy to buy someone clothes. Clothes are an easy choice in the winter because you can buy hoodies, sweatpants, or pajamas. These are all essential winter necessities. You could also pair one of these presents with a pair of Nike socks or any sock brand that your gift receiver prefers. Socks can be a great present, but I would recommend not giving them out alone.
If you know someone pretty well and have some time on your hands, head over to a thrift store to see what treasures you can find. This one can be challenging because you might not know what your friend likes or you might not be able to find anything worth picking up. If you do find something though, it could be a meaningful and thoughtful gift that’s also very budget-friendly.
If you still have extra time, you can order someone a custom gift. Online stores like Etsy make it easy to get your friend a custom gift that is a little more personal than something like a gift card. “I usually just get something off Etsy for my friends,” said senior Nadia Feifar. A customized gift can be a little more on the expensive side but can be a very memorable gift.
If you’ve cut it close this year and don’t have time for any extensive shopping, a classic and easy present is a gift card. You also don’t even have to leave your bed in most cases because you can order them online. This gift allows the receiver to pick out how they would like to spend the money, so although they may not be very personal, they are very practical.
If you’re leaving for a party in an hour and you still haven’t gotten anything, try making a card. Take a piece of paper, decorate it with Christmas stuff, put money in it, then sign it. Stop by a store on the way there and pick up a box of candy to pair it with because it’s better than bringing nothing. A stuffed animal could be a thoughtful present for your friends and family if giving gift cards isn’t your thing. Most stores sell them so you could even go get one on the way to whichever event you’re handing out your present.
Buying and giving gifts shouldn’t be a stressful thing that you should have to worry about. These gift ideas should hopefully help you out this holiday season or inspire you on what to give your receiver this year.
