Top 10 Christmas Movies

During this winter break, there’s no better way to get into the Christmas spirit than to sit down and watch a Christmas movie. The following are my top 10 favorite Christmas movies you should watch this holiday season.

1. Elf (2003)

In this instant classic, Will Ferrell and John Favreau create an equally heartwarming and funny film that provides everything you want in a Christmas movie.

2. Home Alone (1990)

Possibly the most iconic Christmas movie of all time, this movie is no short of a Christmas classic.

3. How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)

Jim Carrey takes on Doctor Suess’s classic character in this holiday favorite.

4. The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

One of the most unique Christmas movies on this list that delivers to all audiences, The Nightmare Before Christmas is a universally watched and loved Christmas movie.

5. Home Alone 2 (1992)

Starring renowned actor Donald Trump, Home Alone 2 delivers a similar charm to the first film.

6. The Polar Express (2004)

A movie watched in probably every elementary school classroom the day before winter break, The Polar Express is a nostalgic and fun movie that almost all kids can reminisce about.

7. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (1989)

This slapstick, out-of-control Christmas movie is a classic for many families around Christmas time.

8. A Christmas Story (1983)

Though the oldest film on this list, it continues its rotation in households all over America come Christmas time.

9. Klaus (2019)

The most recent film on this list, Klaus is an animated masterpiece that delivers some great Christmas charm.

10. The Santa Claus (1994)

This Tim Allen holiday classic inspired multiple sequels, and a new show set to premiere this December.

Note: Die Hard is NOT a Christmas movie! Disagree? Scan this QR code to cast your vote, and the results will be posted on the OMScroll Instagram account after winter break.
