Tryout Information You Need to Know
Interested in joining a spring sport this year? Tryouts for all spring sports start in just a couple of weeks on March 1st. The list of spring sports includes baseball, track and field, boys and girls lacrosse, softball, allied softball, and tennis. If you’re interested in any of the spring sports options, be sure to attend tryouts or contact Mr. Stevenson, our Athletic & Activities Manager.
If you have any sport-specific questions, feel free to ask the coach about what you can do to prepare. Coach Gonzales (outdoor track) says, “We’re looking for hardworking people who are disciplined, willing to put in the work, and people who push themselves.” This attitude applies to every sport this spring, so prepare to meet these expectations.
Preparation is important. First, it’s important to have good grades to be eligible to participate in your sport. Eligibility is based on your second quarter grades, and you have to have a GPA of 2.0 or above with no more than one E. Equipment can be an important part of your sport, so it’s smart to ask your coach what type of equipment you may need.
Good luck to all of our spring athletes and go Scorps!
