Lamar Jackson Traded to Bears by Isaiah Johnson

Heartbreak for Baltimore

It is the NFL offseason, which means trades, free agency, and the NFL draft. Like every year, many players will find new homes with new teams next season.

With this comes shocking news out of Baltimore. Ravens star Quarterback and reigning MVP Lamar Jackson has been traded to the Chicago Bears for QB Justin Fields and a haul of draft picks. The draft picks include this year’s 1st, 2nd, and 9th overall picks, a 2025 1st-round pick, a 2025 2nd-round pick, and another 1st-round draft pick in 2026.

This decision comes as a complete shock to the NFL world, and many Ravens fans are puzzled with GM Eric Decosta’s decision to trade the star Quarterback. The news is particularly surprising since Baltimore just agreed to a 260 million dollar contract with Jackson last year, making him the third highest paid Quarterback in the league.

Many fans are in uproar, with one fan saying, “This is an utter disgrace to the city of Baltimore and the state of Maryland as a whole,” while others have stated they will not be fans of the team anymore.

This serves the question, how will the Baltimore Ravens and Justin Fields perform this year following that devastating AFC championship loss to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs?

Happy April Fool's Day from OM's seniors!
