Real or not real?
Have you ever heard about crazy conspiracy theories online and scoffed at the fact that someone can even believe that they are true? Usually, when you think of conspiracy theories, you think of wild conspiracies that are obviously so fake and fabricated. I mean, when was the last time you saw a conspiracy theory with actual evidence and facts backing it? What if I told you that there are a few conspiracy theories out there that might have a little truth behind them? MIGHT. I know you must be saying, “There’s no way there are conspiracy theories that might be true. No way. Nuh uh. Impossible.” WRONG. If you want your mind to be absolutely blown, keep reading because it’s about to get crazy.
Our first conspiracy takes us back to 1995 when the Denver International Airport opened. People immediately felt something was off. The project ran wildly over budget, which was also a major concern. They say that beneath the Denver International Airport’s massive runways, many believe something sinister lies hidden. Rumors claim an underground city built for the world’s elite or even otherworldly beings. The airport’s strange murals depict war, death, and rebirth, while the glowing red-eyed horse statue at the entrance, nicknamed Blucifer, killed its creator, Luis Jiménez, before completion. Even a former governor has stated that, “There’s a lot of strange things about this airport.” I mean, I’m already convinced because of the bizarre symbols and secret tunnels. And they have this scary demonic horse to greet you at the airport. I mean, people can’t help but wonder if Denver’s airport is just an airport… or something FAR more sinister.
Our second conspiracy takes us back to the 1960s after the Apollo missions. Whispers have spread that NASA didn’t tell us the whole truth. Missing telemetry tapes from Apollo 11, strange reflections in photos, and astronauts using the code name “Santa Claus” for something they saw have all fueled speculation. Some believe the tapes were destroyed to hide evidence of extraterrestrial contact or proof that humanity was never meant to return to the Moon. But then again, it was the 60s. Who knows what was up with people back then.
Speaking of aliens and extraterrestrials. Back in 1977, a radio telescope in Ohio picked up a mysterious 72-second transmission from deep space that was so strong and unusual that the astronomer who found it circled the data and wrote “WOW!” in a red pen. The signal seemed to come from the constellation Sagittarius and never appeared again. Scientists couldn’t explain it: no star, no planet, no human-made satellite fit. Some believe it was Earth’s first contact with alien life… a message sent once, and never repeated.
In the early 1980s, rumors started about something called The Montauk Project. On the quiet edge of Long Island sits Camp Hero, a decommissioned military base shrouded in secrecy. Locals swear on their lives that they’ve seen strange lights and heard humming machines deep underground. Conspiracy theorists claim it was home to the Montauk Project, a secret government experiment involving time travel, psychic manipulation, and interdimensional portals. Some even say children were abducted for these tests. If you’re tapped in, you would also know this very conspiracy theory is what inspired the hit show, Stranger Things, which is pretty cool. Whether truth or myth, the air around Montauk still feels charged with something… unnatural.
Welp, do with that what you will. But I’m sure we can all agree this was groundbreaking information, am I right? Imagine what would happen if you hadn’t learned about these insane conspiracy theories… It would be very bad. Now you know to be wary. This was only scratching the surface. Imagine what else is hiding in plain sight. Especially because today is Halloween. You never know, they might come and getcha. Spooky. Obviously, these are all still conspiracy theories and not actually true. Or are they…?
