What was the best movie of 2017?
Dear Movie Enthusiast,
I think, hands down the best movie was Get Out. From using its platform to talk about emerging racial issues to having its watchers jump out of their seats in the theater, Get Out was great. With Get Out, 2017 brought one of the best horror movies in a pretty long while—and that comes from a person obsessed with horror films. If horror movies aren’t quite your cup of tea, check out Thor: Ragnarok, Dunkirk, or Wonder Woman.
Dunkirk is definitely a more cinematic type of movie. Its content was decent, but how the movie was filmed and edited was what made it beautiful. Everyone I talk to about this movie is just like “Eh,” it’s kind of like IT, which was a super well produced and directed movie; its content just didn’t necessarily match up.
Of the many superhero movies that came out in 2017, Wonder Woman and Thor: Ragnarok were two of my favorites. They were cute action packed movies that had you feeling so many emotions. Wonder Woman was definitely meant to make the viewers fall in love with her and what she stands for whether that be “girl power,” strength, or just beating the odds. While Thor: Ragnarok delves deeper into Thor’s character and his family history without losing his super cheesy jokes. Plus Chris Pine, Chris Hemsworth, and Gal Galgadot make it even better. *heart eyes*
Though there were some really well produced movies and some movies with a killer plot in 2017, I cannot wait for the movies that 2018 will bring including: Avengers: Infinity War, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Deadpool 2, Solo: A Star Wars Story, Black Panther, The Maze Runner: The Death Cure, The Nun, and Spider-man: Into the Spider-Verse and that is just to name a few. But I’m betting they will all be… incredible.
Sincerely Yours,
J. ❤
P.S. Did you see what I did there with the “Incredible” thing because the Incredibles 2 comes out, HA I’m funny.
