BReonna Taylor’s Case Update

On October 10, 2020, CNN showed body camera footage of an officer yelling at Breonna Taylor’s boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, before he was arrested.

Breonna Taylor was a 26-year-old woman who was shot on March 13, 2020, by the Louisville Police while proceeding with a warrant for her ex-boyfriend who didn’t live at her house. Text messages recovered by investigators showed he was selling marijuana and pills from October 2019 until March 2020.

On October 13, 2020, Walker was interviewed by CBS and he said that when the police showed up at Taylor’s door, no one identified themselves. None of the three police officers who were involved in the warrant that night would be charged in the connection of Taylor’s death, except for one officer. Brett Hankison was charged for firing bullets that risked injury to a person in an adjacent apartment and he was also fired from the police department. The officer has pleaded guilty to the chargers against him. An attorney for Hankison did not immediately respond to any press inquiry for a statement.
