On the 5600 block of Cedar Lane in Harper’s Choice at 8:29 p.m. on Saturday, October 3rd, someone reported that two men were shot. Howard County police were quickly called to the scene. Sherod Madison Hogue, 26, from Columbia, and Gregory Peck McGraw, 31, from Baltimore, were sent to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. While Sherod Madison Hogue was announced in critical condition, Gregory Peck McGraw was released from the hospital.
In a separate incident, 23-year-old Juan Michael Ross from Jessup was shot on the 9600 block of Basket Ring Road. By the time the Howard County Police got to the scene, the man was suffering from gunshot wounds and died on the scene.
The police are investigating a third shooting that occurred on the 7500 block of Monarch Mill Way from Monday morning at 1:35 a.m. There were reports of several gun shots. The police learned later that the man with a gunshot wound in the leg had been driven to Howard County General Hospital by a friend. The man’s name is Deanre Cummings, 24, from Columbia, who was treated and released from the hospital.
The police think that the shooting on Sunday and Monday morning are drug related. The police think that these shootings were connected since the incidents were 4 miles away and less than 24 hours apart.
