Music Review: Panda Bear

When exploring the realm of Spotify, I came across a song from a musician that I had only listened to casually. As soon as the song (“Sequential Circuits”) started, my ears became instantly attracted to it and my focus shifted to the music. I wanted to hear every beat and understand each lyric. I wanted to ground myself in order to truly hear the sound waves being emitted through my headphones. The music made me feel like I was traveling through space, or perhaps like I was the only one on Earth. Naturally, I played it on repeat for the rest of the day.

You may be wondering who this magical mystery musician is, the one who holds the power to unlock feelings and completely engulf a listener. He is Baltimore native Noah Lennox, who goes by the stage name of Panda Bear. Lennox started out in 1999 in a band called Animal Collective with one of his good friends, then started to branch off and establish his own sound. Lennox now lives in Portugal where he continues to produce this new-aged, psychedelic, experimental music to please the masses.

Let’s dig into some song recommendations for a new listener:

“Sequential Circuits” – Panda Bear Meets The Grim Reaper

“Boys Latin” – Panda Bear Meets The Grim Reaper

“Lonely Wanderer” – Panda Bear Meets The Grim Reaper

“Take Pills” – Person Pitch
