This school year In room 801, you may see our newest chemistry teacher, Mr Santos. Mr Santos recently graduated and had two choices, either work in a lab, or teach. Thankfully, he chose the latter. Mr. Santos is a recent graduate and quite young. His passion for chemistry is apparent in his teaching.

OM personally called him to work here. He wants students to succeed and work hard, even if the work is complicated or confusing. He says he would rather have students get questions wrong and ask for help, rather than students who give up. He says, “I want them to try, if they come and they try their hardest, and they leave and say, I try, I’m happy.”

Mr. Santos loves to problem solve, which is directly tied to his passion for science. He is in constant pursuit to understand our world. “Trying to solve problems, trying to solve puzzles…” Mr. Santos claims he tries to be happy as much as possible. His happiness is what he considers to be his main trait. “The choice I try to make, to be happy and be proud of what I’ve done for that day.”

His favorite book is Frankenstein, and he likes the way the book describes what’s going on. For hobbies, Mr. Santos often works out, reads, and plays videogames like Arc Raider, Helldivers and Fallout New Vegas. Currently, he is watching the TV show Lanterns. When asked who he would like to meet if he could talk to anyone that ever existed, Mr. Santos was stumped, unsure of an answer. Instead, he answered with, “Me in thirty years, if I can meet me in 30 years, I wanna see what’s happening”. Whenever you get the chance, please visit Mr. Santos, and tell him, “Welcome to OM!”
