Sylvester Stallone is starring in another movie as Rocky Balboa. “Creed” is the fictional story of Apollo Creed’s son Adonis Johnson, who is played by Michael B. Jordan.

Creed follows Adonis Johnson on his journey to becoming a great boxer like his father Apollo. He tracks down Rocky Balboa, who was a friend and former rival of his late father, and asks him to train him. Rocky accepts and as they train, Adonis fights along side Rocky, who he learns is fighting a much more dangerous opponent.

The movie takes place back in Philadelphia like the original Rocky movies. This film is directed by Ryan Coogler, who also directed “Fruitvale Station,” which won the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award for U.S. Dramatic Film at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. “Fruitvale Station” also starred Michael B. Jordan, who recently told Ellen Degeneres that he worked out six days a week to get in shape for the movie.

As Sylvester Stallone stated ,this upcoming film is not “Rocky VII” but instead “Creed One”.  This means that even if audiences are not familiar with the “Rocky” series, they will likely appreciate the story as a stand-alone work. It will be the first movie in the Rocky Franchise not directed by Stallone. Creed will also be the first of the Rocky films to not include Burt Young or Tony Burton, actors from the original Rocky movies.

Sylvester Stallone is now the only actor to have officially starred in all the Rocky movies.”Creed,” hits theaters today, just in time for Thanksgiving day crowds.
