Baking Recipe Review

Over quarantine, many of us have picked up a few new hobbies to pass the time at home. My favorite new hobby is baking, so I wanted to review some of the recipes I’ve tried over the past few months.

  1. Cream Puffs

For the first recipe I’ve ever done, this one is in the top three. The pastry itself was a nice texture and I may have burnt a few, but that’s a mistake on my part. I didn’t make the cream filling in the recipe, but the frosting I made worked really well with the recipe.

  1. Red Velvet Cupcakes

This recipe wasn’t my favorite, but only because I messed up a few things. Firstly, I didn’t have red food dye, which defeats the entire “Red Velvet” idea. And secondly, I didn’t have all of the ingredients I needed so I had to improvise a bit. Overall, they were good and I do recommend it, just make sure you have everything you need beforehand.

  1. Peanut Butter Cookies

I have to say that this is probably my all-time favorite recipe I’ve done. It’s only four ingredients, not including the optional chocolate chips, and a bake time of 8-10 minutes. Not only is it an easy recipe but the cookies are really good too.

  1. Chocolate Chip Cookies

The preparation time took longer than I would have expected, but it was worth it in the end. Also, it can get messy, so if you plan on making these, be prepared. It took me until my second try to get the cookies to my liking but that’s because of my personal errors. Overall, I recommend these to someone with more baking experience rather than a newbie like myself.

  1. Sugar Cookies

To make these cookies you definitely need to have some patience, considering the 1-2 hours you have to let the dough chill. Other than that, these cookies are really good and fun to make with family. You can cut them into different shapes and color the dough if you want to. This was definitely one of my top five favorite recipes.

Here are the recipes I used, and I hope you have a better experience than I did with some of them.
