1. Animal Cruelty
More than 70 billion land animals are killed worldwide for food every year, and there are 25,000 factory farms in the United States. According to animalequality.org, these animals experience: forced fasting, inhumane transportation, electrocution, fattening farms, cruel death, and even watching their peers die in front of their faces. They also undergo sickness and disease, lack of veterinary care, emotional distress, and the list goes on.
These animals are suffering terribly and are treated like soulless machines every single day to benefit humans. It’s not that we aren’t aware of what’s happening to these animals, it’s that we don’t care and continue to allow this barbarous abuse to transpire.

3. The Spread of Covid-19
According to the data found by the National Academy of Sciences “…6% to 8% of U.S COVID-19 cases, and 3% to 4% of the deaths through late July…” were due to livestock meatpacking. Back in May 2020, it was found that not only meat consumers were getting sick from this deadly virus, but workers too. According to cdc.gov “Among approximately 130,000 workers at the facilities, 4,913 cases and 20 deaths occurred.” They believe it was caused by the lack of hygiene, physical distancing, crowded living, and transportation conditions.
