A Message From Your Editor-in-Chief

Hi OM! My name is Kylee Hoffman. I am a senior here and this year’s Editor-in-Chief of The Scroll. I started in this program my sophomore year as a News Editor and slowly made my way to Layout Manager and now EIC. Working for The Scroll and being able to update my school community has brought me a lot of joy. What a pleasure it has been to work alongside my team of incredible writers, editors, and friends. As I close out my senior year and hand over the reins to someone else, I wanted to close with the things about this program that meant the most to me. Writing has always been a passion of mine and doing so within this space has allowed me to write what I wanted to, from breaking news, to interviews, to messages like this. I have also made incredible friends in this room, those who have graduated before me and those who are after. All of these people hold a special place in my heart. They have been alongside me through easy writing, strict deadlines, and the stress of making The Scroll perfect. Lastly, Ms. Moore, our advisor, has offered me a plethora of opportunities I could not have fathomed my freshmen year. Because of her, I am where I am now: someone who is confident, able to persevere, develop strong connections, and lead. I am grateful for every opportunity OM journalism has given me and for the people I have met along the way. Henry David Thoreau once said, “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.” That is what I say to all of you, for my dreams got me here, and your dreams can do the same. Good luck class of 2023 and go Scorps!
